A flagship preamplifier from the Japanese high-end audio specialist Accuphase.
This model was produced between 1990 and 1993 and was designed with a true cost-no-object philosophy.
It arrived at our workshop with severe crackling noise in one channel of the phono section. Upon opening the unit for inspection, we discovered several leaking electrolytic capacitors, which had spread corrosive residue over the PCB traces and even damaged some of them.
A complete recap was therefore carried out using premium components, along with a thorough refurbishment of all other internal parts affected by age. This was followed by extensive final testing, adjustment, and measurement to ensure that all specifications were fully within factory tolerances.
It was an honor to work on such a fine piece of audio history and to restore it to an even higher level of performance. For this project, we used only the very best Japanese audio-grade capacitors and ultra-low-noise resistors.
